Cosmetology License Renewal

Cosmetology licenses in Maryland are renewed every two years. No continuing education hours are required for renewal. The renewal fees are $25 for all beauty practitioner disciplines.

Out-of-state license / Out-of-country license

An out-of-state license does not automatically qualify you for a cosmetology license in Maryland. You can apply for a license through endorsement if your home state has similar license requirements as Maryland. If you want to transfer your cosmetology license to Maryland then you have to provide certification that your license was obtained under the same standards, is in good standing, is current and is eligible for licensure by endorsement. You can complete an online application for reciprocity here (Licensure by Endorsement).
