Out-of-state License

An out-of-state license does not automatically qualify you for a cosmetology license in Ohio. Out of state licensees are required to submit an Out of State License Application (OSBC Forms) and to take the practical, theory and manager’s examinations regardless of their state, previous licensure or examinations taken. With the application to the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology, applicants need to request a board certification from the state where they hold a current and active license.  These license certifications must be mailed directly from the Board.
